Mental health professionals are only beginning to recognize that some foods can be addictive and many people cannot stop eating because they are \u201caddicted\u201d in the same way an alcoholic is dependent on alcohol.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Learning Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participants will&#8230;<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Describe how to assess weight loss history and how this assessment can help mental health professionals provide better strategies for clients.<\/li>\n<li>Identify how food affects the body and how this has made weight loss harder for certain clients.<\/li>\n<li>Outline treatment approaches for those struggling with food addictions or weight management issues.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Course Lessons and Descriptions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>TWM 101: Healthy Weight Loss in Treatment of Binge Eating and Food Addiction<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Rhona Epstein, Psy.D., C.A.C.<br \/>\nIn this lecture, Dr. Epstein takes a closer look at how treatment providers can navigate weight loss matters to manage binge eating and food addiction. Runtime: 55 minutes 11 seconds<br \/>\nThe first step in effectively treating binge eating and food addiction is establishing clinically-excellent assessment and diagnostic skills.
