Does interacting with control freaks, angry or violent people make you feel uncomfortable? No matter what client population you serve, you may regularly encounter these individuals and may not be prepared to deal effectively with them.\u202fControl Freaks, Toxic Anger, and Violence 2.0\u202fwill assist mental health professionals with identifying individuals who struggle with controlling, angry, and violent characteristics and help equip you with evidenced-based and biblical anchored approaches for Christian clients to help such individuals learn socially adaptive behavior.<\/p>\n

    As Mental Health Professionals, how do we motivate people who have excessive controlling issues, people struggling with toxic anger, and violent individuals to break the abusive cycle? This presentation aims to show how to use empirically supported and biblical approaches that motivate controllers, angry, and violent Christian clients to break abusive patterns and embrace a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n

    In this presentation, empirical strategies will be discussed that promote self-empowerment, provide socially acceptable behavioral choices, increase emotional intelligence, develop responsible actions, and grow assertiveness skills. As clinicians, these strategies can be implemented to help clients choose alternative expressions of anger rather than aggression and violence through cognitive restructuring and relaxation skills.<\/p>\n
