    CGLS 101: No Goodbyes: Grieving a Suicide<\/strong><\/p>\n

    When a person dies by suicide, their loved ones are left with feelings of grief, guilt, and pain. Suicide is a growing problem in today\u2019s culture, and the grief that comes when a loved one dies by suicide needs to be understood and dealt with in a different way than other types of grief. Suicide survivors face stigma, guilt, shame, and a myriad of unanswered questions. In this lecture, Jennifer Cisney Ellers discusses ways that mental health professionals can sensitively and effectively help those who are grieving the loss of a loved one to suicide.<\/p>\n

    CGLS 102: Beyond the Tears: Treating Complicated Grief<\/strong><\/p>\n

    Grief is a natural response to loss, but sometimes a person\u2019s response to loss goes beyond the typical and becomes complicated grief. Complicated grief can occur for a variety of reasons, and can manifest differently in different people. In this presentation, Dr. Eric Scalise and Jennifer Cisney Ellers share how to identify complicated grief. They also highlight risk factors and treatment strategies for mental health professionals seeking to more effectively help their clients.<\/p>\n
