About This Course<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Global Flourishing Study has shown that, around the world, forgiveness is something people in <\/span>almost all<\/span> countries <\/span>seek<\/span> to practice. <\/span>No matter what type of mental health practice<\/span> or therapy a client is <\/span>seeking<\/span>, knowing how to <\/span>effectively and efficiently help people forgive<\/span> is essential.<\/span> Basic forgiveness studies have yield<\/span>ed <\/span>over ten practical tips to <\/span>accomplish<\/span> forgiveness-based goals with clients. <\/span>In this training, t<\/span>hree sources of evidence-based interventions<\/span>, the Stress-and-coping Theory of Forgiveness, REACH Forgiveness Model, and the Enright Process mode of forgiveness,<\/span> are summarized to help <\/span>the participant<\/span> t<\/span>each and <\/span>utilize<\/span> forgiveness effectively<\/span> in client care.<\/span> T<\/span>he stress-and-coping theory of forgiveness provide<\/span>s <\/span>practical interventions<\/span>, <\/span>while <\/span>s<\/span>pecial emphasis is given to the REACH Forgiveness model in groups or DIY workbooks<\/span>,<\/span> and the Enright Process model in forgiveness therapy and educational settings with youth. <\/span>Furthermore, <\/span>participants<\/span> will identity ways to engage with willing Christian clients with spiritually based practices, such as<\/span> many types of prayer, use of Scripture, and <\/span>other <\/span>resources within the church<\/span> community.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Describe current research on forgiveness and ten practical tips to help clients practice forgiveness in their lives.<\/li>\n
  2. Outline three evidence-based theories or models of forgiveness and how to apply them to cases with clients or in specific settings.<\/li>\n
  3. Identity unique spiritual practices that can increase the use of forgiveness with willing Christian clients.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    FRGV 101: Forgiveness Studies Reveal Over 10 Practical Tips to Treat Clients<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>

    \nFundamentals of forgiveness science have often been neglected in the mental health profession, but in this module, participants will find at least ten practical ways to draw from new research, using the stress-and-coping theory of forgiveness to help clients forgive. We examine what the data says about topics like the injustice gap, alternatives to forgiveness, and two types of forgiveness.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    FRGV 102: Using 12 Evidence-Based Forgiveness Interventions with Clients<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>

    \nTwo interventions have the most evidence supporting their effectiveness\u2014the REACH Forgiveness model for psychoeducational groups and DIY workbooks and Enright\u2019s Process model for intensive counseling for severe problems and for classroom instruction with youth. Many other approaches that have also been found to be effective will be reviewed, which include Luskin\u2019s CBT approach, Wade\u2019s group process therapy, Greenberg\u2019s EFT couple-therapy approach, and Baucom\u2019s method of helping couples who have had affairs.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    FRGV 103: Integrating Forgiveness Interventions and Christian Methods to Help Clients Forgive<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span>
