Abstract  

About 3% of the population experience a panic disorder within a given year. Approximately, 1.7% of the population experience agoraphobia and this is more common in women than men. Harvard Medical School found that in years to come, panic disorder and Agoraphobia will be on the rise due to the symptoms finally coming to light after the pandemic. Panic Disorder 2.0 will discuss the nature, causes and prevalence of panic disorder and agoraphobia and assess the latest evidence-based treatment strategies adults.

PAN 103: Understanding Emotions and Guidelines for Emotion Exposure

In this last lesson for panic disorder and Agoraphobia, Dr. Sibcy expounds of emotions and how they are affected by various stimuli, which affects the client. Dr. Sibcy also explains the steps and guidelines to effective emotion exposure to help reduce symptoms of panic disorder and Agoraphobia.

Presenter 

Gary A. Sibcy II, Ph.D., is a professor of counselor education and supervision and he is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who has educated, trained, and supervised counselors for over 15 years. Dr. Sibcy has a broad range of research and clinical interests, including the assessment and treatment of childhood disorders, anxiety and trauma disorders, and personality disorders. He also has an interest in the integration of religious beliefs in clinical practice. His current research interests focus on developing and disseminating empirically supported treatments for both children and adults. Dr. Sibcy writes, speaks, and consults nationally and internationally.
