About This Course

Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) remains one of the most widely researched and clinically effective approaches for addressing distorted thinking and unhelpful behavioral patterns. At the core of CBT is the belief that how individuals interpret and respond to their thoughts significantly influences emotional and behavioral outcomes. This course equips mental health professionals and coaches with practical tools to identify and restructure negative thought patterns, develop cognitive flexibility, and establish sustainable behavioral rhythms that promote long-term well-being. Topics include the four-step CBT model for thought transformation, the role of self-compassion in addressing intrusive thoughts, and the use of behavioral activation to build healthy habits. Special attention is given to the integration of faith-informed principles with evidence-based clinical strategies, empowering practitioners to support clients in a way that honors both psychological science and spiritual formation. With rates of anxiety, depression, and cognitive overload continuing to rise, clinicians and coaches must be prepared to deliver competent and compassionate care that addresses both cognitive and behavioral change in the context of a client’s belief system.
