Course Lessons and Descriptions
CCSM 101: Coaching Couples to Grow in Spiritual Intimacy
Chuck Elliott, M.A., and Ashley Elliott, M.S.
As a Christian coach, one of the most valuable aspects of the work is to help individuals and couples grow spiritually. But this doesn’t always come naturally or easily for people. In this session, coaches will learn practical steps to help couples grow closer to one another as they set and reach spiritual goals together. Coaches will be trained to use worksheets in coaching sessions to simplify the coaching process and help set goals and measure progress.
CCSM 102: Coaching Couples to Grow in Sexual Intimacy
Chuck Elliott, M.A., and Ashley Elliott, M.S.
Many couples face challenges regarding sexual connection in various seasons of their marriages. In this session, coaches will gain understanding of five key areas that can impact one’s view on sexuality and explore a couple’s specific barriers to sexual connection. Then, coaches will be trained to use the Bible to help couples heal from broken sexual identity, studying what God has to say about the marriage bed and sexuality. Lastly, coaches will be trained to use a worksheet that will guide couples through a process to explore barriers to sexual connection in marriage and communicate about sexual expectations and desires.
CCSM 103: Coaching Couples to Bring God into their Sexual Intimacy
Chuck Elliott, M.A., and Ashley Elliott, M.S.
Culture has trained couples to think that sexual intimacy is dirty, to be hidden. But God invites couples to keep the marriage bed holy; anything holy must be connected to the God of the universe. In this session, coaches are trained to help couples bring God into their sexual intimacy using a worksheet to help couples explore barriers as well as positive encounters they’ve experienced as a couple. In addition, coaches will be given some ideas to share with couples so they can help generate ideas of new ways to bring God into their sexual connection.
